AlanH
I've only seen one GTi on the road so far - but at this rate there'll be total gridlock in a couple of weeks, and all caused by GTi's!
silentandy
I almost ordered from there as I work not far away but eventually ordered closer to home. I've seen quite a few around now but then I do do a lot of miles so I'm bound to. So far they have all either been red or black. Mine's taking so long for me to pick up because the dealer is colour coding it for me. Will post pics when I get it
century_one
I live in the midlands and have seen 1 GTI on the road. Went to Cornwall for 3 days bank holiday weekend and saw 5!!!!!!
BlkGTiDSG
Hello all, I've just joined Tyresmoke after picking up my GTi yesterday. One way round the waiting list is to keep an eye on the VW used list. I got an unregistered showroom demo Mark V GTi from Parkway VW Derby that had precisely the spec I wanted, Diamond Black, DSG, Multi-function Wheel and Leather. Wait time two weeks ! century_one
Was this car in the showroom? The reason I ask is I live just outside Derby and when I popped into Parkway last month they didnt have one in? Had to travel to Newbolds in Mansfield to see one in the metal. Unfortunately it wasnt the spec I wanted so I was told I would have to wait roughly 16 weeks for a factory order.
BlkGTiDSG
Yes, this was their static showroom demo, but it may have been removed in the last week of May when it went on sale. On VW Used, it looked like it had been registered, but because I got in quick, it was registered to me as first owner.
century_one
17s or 18s?
BlkGTiDSG
17"s. Which is cool, because I prefer the 17"s. Part of the reason I bought the car rather than a Scooby or and Evo is that I wanted something a bit more subtle.
skifly
When I ordered my GTI on the 10th May the stealer was suggesting that i should be able to get my GTI for my birthday (13th Aug) but just called him now to get the confirmed build date and it was revised this morning from week 28 to week 33... Not very happy now... puts my car back til september now. Guess it does give me a little time to acquire some more cash to pay for it... Anyone else order around the same time as me or just had their order put back... mine was a laser blue with 18's and leather.
gribs
My order went in on May 13th and I still don't have a build date. I've been quoted anywhere between September and November so far.
martialyang
Put in my order in on 4th June with the following options: 5 door Laser blue paint Arm rest Cruise control Dealer called yesterday to say that he doesn't yet have a build date, but has been told by VW to mention around 6-9 months wait. He reckons it'll be 6 or less months realistically (or at least he hopes). Still, I don't really mind because I'm currently saving for my holiday and other stuff at the moment, picking up the car around December will suit me fine but I have to say that I am rather eager to get it Tum de tum...
