CarMad Posted May 2, 2005 Report Share Posted May 2, 2005 For all those interested in the new RS4 or have placed an order Car have a review of a pre-production motor in this months magazine. Basically its a major improvement over the old car. Engine is a very good, power isn't really up by much but the delivery is and the noise is excellent. Chassis is even better and the move to 60% rear drive has reaped rewards with the handling, grip said to be superb. Steering is a lot sharper as the front wheels aren't trying to turn and grip at the same time being part of the reason for improvement. Ride is good in parts but can be over firm at low speeds. A quality product blah blah but not quite as sharp as an M3. Remember is a late pre-prod model that they tested but have a read for yourself. A spanking new Audi RS4, not read the article yet, but it says as a conclusions is a great car that might just beat the M3 head to head. And a quick comment on one of the pics is that it will blow and M3 away in seconds with blistering acceleration. Now who is getting excited. CarMad Posted May 4, 2005 Author Report Share Posted May 4, 2005 I still haven't had time to read it yet but I think they mean overall feel / enjoyment etc. It does say that they think its the best V8 engine in production today, wow that beats some pretty darn good engines.
