Mo-S3
Want to buy a high quality mini system for my upstairs room adn have seen a nice TEAC system with loads of features but i cant seem to find many comprehensive reviews on the make. Denon whom i know are a very good brand but again cant decide whether to go for the TEAC or the denon ?? Anyone care to en-lighten me ??
Punjabi-A4
Both the Denon and the Teac are award winning systems mate!! Obviously the Teac will end up costing you bit more. The Denons sound really good....mainly because more than often the mini systems are paired up with Mission speakers. Something like the D-M30S (£300) i think won an award last year in 'what hifi' for best micro system or something..includes a one box cd/amp/tuner and mission speakers. Also the DF101/s. The Teac have excellent build quality and are essentially a seperates system in small form factor. They more than usual come without speakers therefore you'll have to consider that...but upgrading and adding extra stuff to the system is much more easier i.e minidisc, cdrw, dvd so you can mix and match. I think the Reference 300 (also 'what hifi' award winner for style system last year) is around £500 which includes tape,cd/amp,tuner minus speakers. Hope this helps. Both are good. Paul
I have got the Denon UD-M30 CD receiver and standard Mission bookshelf speakers. (not the upgrade ones) Im well pleased with it. I would strongly advise against its ugly, clattery slow 3cd sister. Just go for the single slot one if you go Denon.
Mo-S3
thanks Paul, and Raman, im currently leaning towards the TEAC systems than the Denon coz of features and variety. The Teac im looking at is the multi region DVD with cassette deck and a AV amp. I know i wont need a setup like that upstairs but i think it gives me some future proofing for later if u get what i mean. This is nice isnt it !! Cheers

s8n
TEAC? Thats absoulte shite! At least in AU anyway, Teac is MEGA Cheap and Poor Quality gear... Denon is far better. I have a mixture of Denon, Rotel and B&W. Rotel 1075 RMB power amp, Rotel 1066 RSP Processor, B&W 603 Mains, 601 S3 Rears, LCR600 S3 center, Velodyne HGS10 sub. Steer clear of Teac! sitas3
I have a teac ref 300 system, and looks and sounds great to me (can't afford mega wonger systems & i'm going deaf like Beethoven anyway), but it is cheap for a reason i suppose. I think it is a bit dated now though. I now use the amp to transfer from LP to CD via PC..
