Could anyone tell me if there is a way of closing the Soft Top using the remote key. My car is a 2004 Audi Cabriolet 3 Litre UK Spec if that helps. stratty31 Posted June 11, 2005 Report Share Posted June 11, 2005 Hello, and welcome The car isn't coded to close the roof with the remote control, but you can close by inserting the key in the drivers door lock and holding it in the lock direction..this will close the roof fully..i'm pretty sure you can open it in the same way. A colleauge of mine has coded an A4 cab to close the roof with the remote, but i've not tried it myself. Ari Posted June 11, 2005 Report Share Posted June 11, 2005 You can open and close the roof from outside of the car with a "double twist" of the key in the door lock. Basically, to lower the roof twist the key fully towrd the unlock position, release it then immediately twist it over again but this time hold it over. If you let go the roof stops, although another double twist and hold continues the motion. Do the reverse (ie toward the lock position) to raise the roof from outside. A single twist will just raise or lower the windows. (Which means once the roof is down a single twist toward the "unlock" position and hold will drop the windows for you). I was hoping to be able to do it by the remote key as i am a disabled driver who uses a wheelchair and it would be useful to operate it remotely. You mentioned a friend that had it enabled on his, is this easy to do and does it invalidate the warranty. In answer to your question yes i do have cruise control. There are a whole lot of people here who'd <u>love</u> (/kill) to know how to do that - you can't just make a comment like that and leave it hanging !! I tried it on a Cab last week, but it had a roof fault so I think that's why it didn't work. I've recoded the module to 7915 which on a saloon/avant gives you the comfort functions with remote (+64). I've then changed Adaptation Channel 62 from 204 to 207. 204 gives the following: windows up/down with key in lock sunroof close/open with key in lock 207 gives the following: windows up/down with key in lock sunroof close/open with key in lock windows up/down with remote This half worked, windows would close OK with remote but only opened 2 inches and then they stopped. I then tried changing channel 62 to code 255. 255 gives the following: windows up/down with key in lock sunroof close/open with key in lock windows up/down with remote sunroof close/open with remote No joy at all, windows would open 2 inches again and then nothing.
