Would BMW wheels fit a Golf

I have found some very nice alloy wheels on ebay,about 20 miles from where i live but they are advertised as BMW E36-E46 wheels (17" rizzo wheels).The guy said they should fit a mk4 golf, can anybody tell me for sure as i don't wont to drive 40 miles for nothing.Had a look on rochford tyres web site could not find them there, or was i looking in the wrong place.

that gives you the ET, stud pattern for both BMW and VW cars so you can make a comparison. You should be able to get an adaptor to make them fit if the stud pattern is wrong.

Thanks SK. The wheels were not on the rochford web site, well not in the BMW section anyway.Will send email to him asking for specs.

Well based on the info on the rochfords site the E36/E46 wheels would be 5x120, ET35 to 45, and tyre size should be 225x45x17.

MK4 Golf would be 5x100 (so different stud pattern), ET 30 to 45 (similar figures), and tyre size 215x45x17 (although I use 225x45x17).

So in essence they should fit, but in order to do so they would need hub adaptors due to the different stud pattern, they will not be a direct fit.
