Thorburn
[ QUOTE ] If you do get some - just note that I was advised to scrub them in for a couple of hundred miles. [/ QUOTE ] By that do you mean to just go easy on them at first yes? [ QUOTE ] An alternative to consider is the Toyo Proxes T1-R's [/ QUOTE ] Not available in the right size (185/60/14 ) so looks like it'll be the Eagle F1's
Pincher
Yes - just treat them with a little respect for a while before you start taking 90 degree right handers at 60!!
peterb
Both the A2 and RS6 came from the factory with Dunlop SP9000 fitted. Just replaced those on the A2 at 27k (down to around 2mm). The RS6 has just passed 20k and still has 3-4mm left on the original tyres. I'm quite pleased with the grip/handling too. Had a loan A2 on Monday/Tuesday fitted with ... I did look, but I can't remember! (Michelin or Pirelli??) ... but I wasn't as confident with the handling.
beez
I'm running Pirelli P3000's at the minute, but next change I make will either be Firestone TZ200's, or Dunlop SP10s - would anyone go for one rather than the other? If so, why?
Omi
It's only an Escort... Why not just get some remoulds? I'm on a full set of Goodyear Eagle Ventura, but I've worn through the rears and the edge of the fronts. Can get Bridgestone Potenzas fairly cheap, so I think they're next. beez
[ QUOTE ] It's only an Escort... Why not just get some remoulds? [/ QUOTE ] Cos I need tyres that can handle burnouts, wheel spins and fast cornering. Obviously. Or maybe I just want decent quality tyres, being as they're what keep the beast afloat. shao_khan
Just put some Avons on the A4 - far better than the continentals that came off of it.
Drillslinger
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx's on the TQ. Not sure yet how I like them in regards to the GSD3's they replaced. Turn-in is better, but haven't had much heavy rain to test the Dunlops in yet

I wasn't sure what to go for but I've had SC2's several times before on other cars and know I can trust them..but obviously different tyres are good on different cars. Durrsaku
[ QUOTE ] Feck. My apologies for missing out Dunlop and Avon as they're likely to be the choice of a few. Sorry. As in the last option, I am plainly a fecking idiot. [/ QUOTE ] Yes sure. Dunlop Sports. Don't need changing as yet thank God.

Durrsaku
I like cornering too. Aparently i had my A4 in 3 wheels when we were going down for the meet (acording to Danksy). He seemed surprised that was possible in a soot chucker.

Wadders67
Eagle F1 GSD3's on the Alfa Bridgestone Potenza's on the Z4 Even though the Bridge's are run-flat's, I find the ride quality pretty good, but that said, I didn't opt for 18" alloys...so that's probably why

Its definately better than our old Z3 2.8 by a long way and better than my Fiesta with its massive 185/55/14 wheels.....

mulkbear
Federals Sports Tyres (mmm very cheap) £28.50 + VAT for a 205/50/16/91W x4 Well i do drive a mondeo V6. The V6 is so heavy, the front end just goes froward when you try and go round a bend, And the rear is so light that the back end just slides around in the wet so no point in buying, Conti's or Dunlops
Avus_Bub
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Michelin Pilot Exalto's on the Clio (my choice) Fantastic ! Suit the car so well , I had a 2nd "winter" set of wheels on the car untill last week and the Pilots have transformed the drive [/ QUOTE ] I crashed an MG ZS on Exaltos - totally didn't suit the car, felt squidgy, complete lack of feel. Wasn't happy with them from the second they were put on. I don't doubt the tyres, just that they didn't suit the car. [/ QUOTE ] Interesting . How did YOU crash exactly? I've got to say on the Clio they give fantastic feedback and grip - really liven up the ride. Lift-off oversteer is so easy and predictable and you can feeeeel them biting through the wheel on power - keeping understeer at bay.... But then I guess the Clio 16v was the base for argueably the best Hot Hatch of all time - The Clio Williams BUB
