Get a valuation from a company like www.newreg.com - you'll then need to deduct at least 30 to 40% off it to get a realistic selling price.

eBay is always a good option, but bear in mind you might not sell it first time around. I had my plate listed for five weeks before it went to someone with a very smart new Mk5 GTI

Best of luck 169144-ok.gif

I have just sent a PM and now reading your post 50p i think you could be right, surely if you bought it at auction you would have an idea and being an R owner you would no this plate is worth ££££'s, as i saw this plate on the DVLA website and saw how much it went for!!!

I don't think people have intentionally shot you down in flames - as I'm sure you can appreciate, when someone has posted only a few times and then advertise to sell something as potentially valuable as your number plate, some members think there may be a scam going on - they do happen!

One of the great things about TsN is the anonymity - but then it sometimes works against you in a community like this one until people get to know you. 169144-ok.gif

Would be great to see some pics and details of the work you've done on your R32

You'd only have to use incorrect spacing and either some misplaced screws or illegal typeface letters and it could (could being the operative word) read R32 gOLF. smashfreakB.gif

Once the boys in blue have felt your collar and issued a 'correction' notice, what you have is a plate which cost £1,000's and reads R326 OLF.

Very smart indeed... suicide.gif

I see plates advertised in UK car mags (EVO etc) for huge amounts. Looking at one of these ads now I'm guessing you can't have R32 because it needs a space?

How about R 32 then? Any ideas on what that would be worth, for the actual registration?

There were loads of R32 plates on the DVL site 18 months ago,

R32 GRR

R32 PWR etc, they sold for £995

When I got my R in Dec 02 the R32 was not an available plate, nearest available was R3 or R33 so I got R3 VWG rather than V6 VWG, both were available for £249 !!!

So guys R32 _ _ _ will cost £1000 + at the moment and R3 _ _ _ will cost about £495

Personally I wouldn't pay more than £1000 for a illegal plate such as R32 6OLF (or rather a plate that will be illegal when the screw head turns the 6 in to a G.

Why not look for R329 OLF which without being too illegal will look like R32 9OLF a 9 looks more like a g than a 6 looking like a capital G.
