Phatnoise - Totally confused

Recommended Posts

Its very simple, the Phatnoise will fit all 3.

But you have to get the correct cable and firmware.

The cheap VW units will connect directly to a VW, and also an Audi glovebox cable, they are the same connector and the audi or VW firmware can be obtained from www.phatnoise.com using the music manager software.

If you want to put the phatnoise in the boot of your audi, then you will need an audi specific cable, so you can eiter buy a cheap VW unit and cheap cable or buy an audi phatnoise that will have the cable supplied, or even get one from your dealer at £50.

It's not rocket science....

Sort of, I don't know if you can get the Audi GB connector, as it connects to the 20 pin connector behind the radio whic his all one piece and has the amps and can bus wires on it.

What I do for concert and symphony units is convert the phatnoise lead supplied to the same pins as the 20 pin connector and install them into the 20 pin head shell. This make the best connection possible for the phatnoise.

Or for RNS-E I use the glove box cables from kufatec.

OK, you have a CD changer in the boot, very simple then.

Either buy the Audi phatoise, that should have the CD chnager DIN lead.

Or buy a VW one and source the lead elsewhere if its cheaper that way, I know the dealers want £50 for that lead, but I have seen them for £19.99 + shipping
