Hiya guys, I'm thinking of getting a Stage 1 for the 'Old Brick' and wondered if anyone had heard of this website and what they're offering. Or perhaps something similar for another make (probably German though concideriing it's TSN wink.gif) You see I always thought the car had to go through a long winded procedure taking up to three hours with different dyno test and the like. These guys are offering a home kit taking only two minutes.

What do you reckon? 169144-ok.gif

It's already got a pipercross filter and the brakes are vented 305mm jobs that according to a Volvo forum, can't be improved on unless you go for competition pads. As for ride, that could be lower but we've got soooo many speed bumps in London it would drive me mad. It did in the Passat, that thing grounded so often. Anyway the question is, does it sound good? 169144-ok.gif

I think it sounds very good Tian and should provide noticable differences. After all,it's just really a mobile version of what the big chip companies would do if you left it with them for half a day and they drove it around with their laptop attached.

It would be better without the cat but then it's hassle getting it put back on at MOT time and if you were unlucky enough to get "traffic" checking your car thoroughly then you'd get done. The air filter won't make any noticeable difference and if it was an exposed item(as apposed to a element replacement)may even draw in too much hot air and make the car run rough(I have actually experienced this!).

Oh how technology has changed tuning!

In the olden days there would have been no substitute for a pair of Webers bolted on the side of your engine-now you just plug and go!

Not sure i agree with Malagus about the economy being reduced. When you nail it then you'll use more fuel, obviously, but driven sensibly you'll probably find it more economical due to the smaller throttle openings achieving the same result.

They do claim an improvement in economy, not that I give a feck about that, any difference would be so small. Thanks for the words of wisdom. I shall go and check my online balance. Might just manage to eak enough cash out next month. sekret.gif

That's okay malagas.

strut brace is a piece of material, usually ally or titanium that bolts onto the top of your suspension strut towers under the bonnet, and stops the body and suspension from moving and flexing, so improving body hold. not a major mod, but stiffens up the handling a little

Strut Brace yes but not what you said. Anyway it's standard kit on the Volvo, dirty great thing. It's a very stiff car anyway, Volvos barge their way over bumps and stay reasonably flat. I think I've decided to go for it anyway, it's my birthday soon and MrMe says he'll buy me one.

Enjoy the Re-Map Tian.

It transformed the A4 and it's no worse at all on fuel grin.gif (mind you I'll be saving a bit for the next 55 days smirk.gif)

I've got a 'DualSystem' box for the A4 - switches back in 4 mins 169144-ok.gif
