I will start by saying I didnt use bar or restaurant fascilities here, so this concerns the Hotel accomodation / staff.

OK - not a cheap place to stay looking at the published rates - I can sum this place up in a couple of words - ITs a Joke, without a doubt the worst experience i have had in a hotel.

Arrival - i park up in drop off zone to drop off the other half and bags, porter comes over to the car and i was expecting "welcome to Marriott WIQ, can I help you with your bags" or something lik that. I got "You cant stop there - security risk" soI explain I am just arriving and dropping off lady and bags to which he advises "If you step away from the car I will have to take action, you'll have to park up in the carpark and bring bags with you".

Car park is a couple of minutes walk away. SO park up and bring stuff back with me.

Check in is ok, except I have an King Size room booked at a "double rate" so I explain how its not my problem they took the booking and advised on rates etc, so I get put on the exec floor only to be advised that the exec lounge was shut and so exec fascilities didnt exist for the next couple of weeks!!! SO you still pay for exec rates but dont get the fascilities

Room - TV cabinet was damaged and broken and TV control needed batteries. Bath towels in the room were obviously designed to cover your average waif or under 5yr old as it barely went around my thigh, slippers were one size only, which didnt cater for my 13, only 1 robe in a double/king room. Wardrobe doors did not shut properly hence wardrode light didnt turn off and lit the room.

Large TV, but no dvd player or anything like that. No power shower.

On check out I notice my bill has an accomodation tax - never seen this one before - turns out its what they call VAT, but when I questioned this I was told that this was quite simple to understand as everyone does it. It took 20mins to discover that it was VAT and not another tax they had added, and for the whole time because the bill did not give a % just a number I had the staff basically accusing me of being thick.

SO anyway in summary -

Staff - rude, arrogant and aloof. 0/10

Accomodation - when you consider rates poor standards or quality and conveniences 4/10

it looks nice enough, sorry to hear you didnt enjoy your stay though.

Oh and even the dorchester only did one size fits all slippers, its your own fault mr travelling-clown

I can thoroughly recommend the Dorchester though and the Picadilly Circus Thistle

You should have stolen the bathrobe as some sort of compensation
