TP27
Having met with RossG, Cheechy and a few of the other Scottish contingent at Star performance on Saturday, we had the opportunity to see the Tyresmoke Stickers from LM05 "in the flesh"!! RossG has the Skoda Fabia vRS, superb looking car and makes you realise how far Skoda have come in the last few years. Emblazoned on the vRS's rear, is the Tyresmoke (TSN) Sticker, possibly 1' x 10" in size, transparent but quite bold in appearance. The stickers are essentially an advert with the TSN www address and they look terrific, excellent for a Meet or a TSN tour outing. Ideally, smaller stickers would be great to either mount on a side window or on a section of rear window but in the flesh, the stickers prepared for LM05 (on the car bodywork), do look the business!! They were given the total thumbs up from us!!
Soapsuds
are these stickers (and smaller) ever going to be available to buy?? Just wondering, as i wouldnt mind a small one on the back of the Audi and a big one on the Starion.....
Drillslinger
The "Admin" guys have been working on the Stickers for a while now The problem is that they don't want to sacrifice quality, so finding a printer who can do the job right, WITHOUT making the process prohibitively expensive has been a challenge The LM 05 Stickers were a limited run that (IIRC) the printer won't do again due to the PITA it was to meet TSN's standards HTH
Mollox
Stickers, as many of you will know are a great bone of contention here! The external ones you see were temporary ones (didn't know Ross still has his on as everyone else peeled theirs off!) for the trip down to Le Mans back in June. The idea was to raise awareness of the site in such a petrolhead filled environment. I'd estimate about 30 cars were liveried in various ways and as we had some rather funky machinery they should hopefully have gotten noticed. To this point, we hadn't intended on producing external stickers for sale - we didn't feel there was sufficient demand. If that's not the case then we'll see. What we've been working on is internal (reverse-print) window stickers in the same silver as you see above. This is proving a bit problematic as we really want to use the same laser-cut vinyl type stickers as on the back of Ross's car (and which you might have seen on his glass). These looked fantastic on the limited run we did for LM but the printers don't want to do a repeat as the small size of the window stickers is right on the limit of what their cutters can manage. Anyway, we're on the case with additional suppliers - they key things being quality and cost - we don't want to provide you with poo and we don't want you to have to pay over the odds for it either. Getting what we want for the price we want is taking a bit of time. We thought it was game, set and match after the Le Mans batch - but it'll get sorted

RossG
The only reason I've still got mine on is because I'm a tight arsed Scot who isnt going to throw away something he spent good money on Nah, it's only the one on the back of the car that is still there, and its really because I wasn't quick enough to grab one of the window ones from you or Lagoo. Most people, including Mrs RossG, have given fairly negative feedback about having a big ovbious sticker on the back of my car, so I will probably remove it soon. But I can't help but feel that we don't have enough Scottish members, so it is providing a wee bit of advertising! The bill's in the post Mollox! smurfette
Ross, I'm pretty sure you passed me some weeks ago on the M8 - I just remember seeing the sticker on the back of a car as it flew past me and getting quite excited about it (how sad, I know!) Of course, nobody else in my car at the time had any idea what I was on about.....! Looked pretty good, even in the dark!

RossG
It must have been me as I can safely say that there isn't another Fabia vRS on the planet with a big TSN sticker on the back and I am quite regularly on the M8, particularly in and around the town. Give us a wave if you see me again - I will look out for your VTS. You should come along to a meet one day! How cool - I've been spotted Shame Mollox had to come along and rain on my parade with a hurtful comment like that Oh, and if the car flew past you then it must have been Mrs RossG driving, as I never speed

[/ QUOTE ] Well I hate to disappoint you Ross but you've got a new Scottish member here - and all because I saw the Tyresmoke crew with your stickered cars while waiting to board the ferry at Dover on my way to Le Mans this year. Think I can even remember seeing your car there. So the advertising has worked! Have been lurking for a while - am waiting for my GTI to be built. Currently have a RX-8, so feeling a bit out of place in a very VAG orientated forum. But definitely enjoying the banter.

malagus
hmmm.. sounds like a challenge to me. it would essentially require removing the entire drivetrain and engine setup from the MX5, and having a new driveshaft engineered to fit, plus you may need to cut the floor to fit in the diff from the RX. could be done, but WAY too much hassle. [/ QUOTE ] do you take everything so literally ? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah! Besides, I bet you could just make a new bellhousing to fit the existing MX-5 gearbox to the engine. I dunno how Mazda do it but the Ford engines and drivetrains were very standardised, you could bolt a Zetec engine onto a Sierra's gearbox and stuff like that. But anyway, I was joking! I love the MX-5 just as it is
