firel3lade
Picked up me GTI yesterday FANTASTIC!!! One problem I think I have is the 6-CD armrest loads ok but when I press the CD botton on the head unit it just says 'NO CDC' and nothing plays. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to ring dealer 2moro' and report it fautly
aswall
Do you have a single cd slot as well? If so, you have to press the cd button twice to access the changer
gribs
I will double check it on mine tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I only have to press it once. I've done nearly 400 miles now, but only had Rad/CD on for less than 20 mins so far. I'm still listening to the engine etc.
firel3lade
Hi Aswell, From the radio playing I have pressed CD once and it plays the single CD in head unit no problem but when I press the CD a second time I get silence and it displays 'NO CDC'. I think it is telling me there is no 'CD Changer' connected.
gribs
That does indeed sound b0rked I hope it's a quick fix and it's just something unplugged.
aswall
Yep it does sound as if it needs attention On my MFD2 I have to press CD once to play the CD in the slot (only if the Nav CD isn't in) and a second time to access the changer (or Dension Icepod in my case now) Hope they fix it quickly
firel3lade
Just an update on my 6-CD interchanger not working, the dealer had the car for three days and kept ringing my up saying they had changed the headunit, no good; they had changed the 6-CD in armrest, still no good; now waiting for advice from Germany on a possible software problem. All that has gone before I now believe to be lies because when I collected it they said the had replaced a faulty interface cable, when I got to my car I found a plastic cover plate lying in the drivers side footwell which was from under the seat where I now know the interface cables plug together, unplugging the cable I created the original fault of 'NO CDC' on headunit display. I think dealer just plugged this cable in and then kept my car for three days to claim warranty repair time from VW Germany. Ooh, I also got some free oil, nice, but it was on my seat not in the boot, useless idiots.
