Thing is, where it is happening on my car is the fibre glass attachment onto the boot for the boot lock, where as yours is metal I presume.

I think mine is a reaction that the paint is having with fibre glass. will bring it into the local Audi garage later this week. Hope it isn't a big deal to sort it, probably will tho frown.gif

I drive an A3 1.8t on a '99 and my car has bubbling paint on both sides. I am waiting for Audi customer services to come back to me as the dealership was not interested. I have been told that this is possibly down to something underneath the paint in the factory. I don't know what to do as it is clearly a factory fault and it is only going to get worse.

Hi guys, I remember reading this post a little while ago and I had only had my S3, (2002 model in Silver), for about a week. Well, 7 months on and after an intense cleaning session I've noticed a couple of bubbles on my car just in front of one the rear wheel arches too. I just wondered what the outcome of the situation was and if anyone could give me some advice as to what I could do regarding this?

The bubble does appear to have a tiny pin-prick dot in the middle but it doesn't look deep enough by any means to have gone down to bare metal, which is galvanized also? The car is also still under warranty for the next 6 months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm really worried. Thanks, beerchug.gif

To be honest, I think mine might be where a stone has hit the car with such force that it has displaced the paint around the chip, however when I washed the car the other day, I pressed the bubble gently and a tiny amount of water was expelled from beneath the paint. The chip doesn't seem to have gone right down to the metal though and it doesn't look like rust! Just for the record, does anybody know if the rear quarters are actually galvanised or is it a myth? Thanks! 169144-ok.gif
