R32North
Think he might be talking about the uprated replacement bulbs that use 'Xenon' technoogy to give brighter, whiter light, as opposed to the full on Xenon headlights! Sportsman, can you elaborate ?

Rustynuts
Then your car will not be legal to drive. Only OEM equipment with the correct lighting units, headlamp assembly, auto-levelling kit, headlamp washer system will keep you road legal. Putting a HID kit into your standard headlamp will not give the correct lighting pattern or beam, will dazzle other road users (as they won't auto level) and when it comes to MOT time, your car will fail. I know it's a couple of years down the line, but if you do happen to attract the attention of an observant policeman, you're going to be done. Factory fit items (if you can source them) will be expensive, but will keep you legal.
R32North
You can fit the HID bulbs, which cost around £15 ea, and these do improve the lighting quite noticeably. Can't believe that guys is selling those bulbs for that much. If they are true Xenon and he's seeling them to people without the necessary 'other' parts, ie leveling, washers, surely he walking a thin line!! Avus_Bub
There are plenty of these 'Full on Xenon/HID' kits on Ebay for well under £180. Legal or not that's going to be very tempting to the Chavs - Most dealerships charge £150+ for a 2DR or2DS Xenon bulb!!! BUB

These days any excuse to not pay out a claim, on either parties' insurance, is at the top of any insurers list so even if you declare that you've added this 'mod' to your car your insurance will be invalid as you don't have the necssary components to go with it. If you fitted the bulbs to the existing headlight housing then you will NOT have the correct light pattern, as HID / Xenons have a different focal length than standard lights, yes it may well look like they are producing the correct beam but that is a beam for non-Xenon bulb. Its each person perrogative to do what they like, ie fit such a kit, I'm simply stating a few facts that people should be aware of!!
