crasher
Ho ho ho, i'm sure Craigyb suffered from this a while back... Sunday I finally got round to taking out my head unit so I could remove the last of the dension wiring and restore the CD changer. Upon lifting out all of the mats in the drivers footwell (to access the splendidly hidden cabling) i noticed that the sponge padding of the lower mat was sodden. The upper mat was bone dry, and we've not had much in the way of rain recently. So... how did it get there? I've had a re-occurrence of the 'gurgling water' noise comming from the front vents (in fact it happened last friday) despite my local dealers assurance that they had cleared the condensate traps and pipes during the service last week (at my insistence). I'm sure there is an easy answer, and i'm sure it will involve yet another trip to Listers... any clues? Cheers

Ska
Use the hose pipe method folks; it forces all the crap right out! Done it once and its never had a blockage since
SneakyMcC
Did that. Left the carpets out for a week or so, but not sure if it dried out fully or not?
crasher
Cheers for the linky. SOunds like a fun sunday afternoon kind of job. Ska, I assume you mean a water hose pipe rather than Air? My compressor is over at my parents house, so I guess a hose pipe will have to do... Ska
Yes, just make sure you put a jubilee clip over the hose/ orange part otherwise you'll give the interior a bath. Just for good measure put a large rag around the joint so if the water pressure does disconnect the joint you'll have some form of damage limitation. And increase the pressure slowly have someone at the tap and you stay with the joint preferably holding it with your hands and watch the crap fow out
crasher
just a final thought. I assume the hose in each footwell is not connected in anyway? I.E I assume if I blast water down one hose it is not going to go spewing out the other one!
turbo_a6
Got mine sorted in the dealer, no appointment needed sorted in 30 minutes and only 15 quid, bunged a tenner to another guy and he polished out a load of key scratches the local kids had left the little s
Ska
No lol theres two separate exits; i think either side of the bell housing for the tranny. Just keep a hold of the joint while you apply the pressure and don't over tighten or under tighten the jubilee clip
PaulW
You can just pull the orange things right out and clean them in your sink.....but make sure you have a few quart containers to catch the water in there!

crasher
If you can see the malverns from your office window then you can't be located in LONDON, unless your office is about 5 miles high!
Ska
Believe me I'm located in west London and my office is located in between gloucester and cheltenham... well it is for at least another three weeks or so.(staverton airport)
PSU
Sounds like SKA is in the RAF or an air traffic controller. I live in Cheltenham spitting distance from the Air Balloon Pub, sitting on the flight path of Staverton Airport and RAF Innsworth (soon to be closed).
