Stifler
I seem to Have a leak coming out of the back of the washer motor on my rear washer. Some water comes out and on to the window and quite alot goes into the silencing material in the boot door. This is causing rust at the bottom of my boot door. On looking at the motor there seems to be two holes in the back of a plastic thing sticking out. I have blocked this up for the time being but I am sure this is not the correct thing to do. Does anyone have any advice on this please?
CarMad
Hi and welcome to TSN. Have heard of issues where the pressure has forced the hose off the fitting. So the more water you pump through the more you fill the boot with water. Take it to the dealer and they might charge you a fair bit to fix it or have a bo yourself and trace how far / close the water is getting to the screen. It might be a case of simply fitting it back on again.
zoomx3
Hi CarMad. Shouldnt this be covered under the warranty?
Stifler
Thanks for replying. I have had a look at it and the hose seems to be fully attached. unfortunately it is a slightly older car Mk IV so its not uner warenty anymore. RedRobin
Hi Stifler - Would be a good idea to say if anything other than a Mk5 in this forum - We all assumed yours was a Mk5 problem. Cheers

GTiMK5
Stifler, Welcome mate, dont worry about it. This is a Golf GTI forum, not a Mark 5 Golf GTI forum specifically so no worries.
Regulator
Stifler, it seems to be a common probs with these veedubs ... It happened to my lupo but luckily we were still covered by the warranty. Just take the car to a local dealer who will be able to fix the problem at half the price! RedRobin
Sorry Stifler....I was only meaning that we would be better able to help you if you informed us that you were referring to any other Mk GTI than a Mk5. I did not mean "Go away unless you have a Mk5 quezzie!". Currently the Mk5 seems to be the only GTI being discussed here - Probably cos it's still new and we network stuff. Welcome! Again!
