FiveStar
For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of using Meguiars Wheel Brightener from their Detailer range, here are a few pics showing you just what you're missing. No agitation of any kind was used, just the force of the spray bottle and the water from the hose. Pic 1 - Wheel before I started. Over 6 weeks worth of brake dust. Pic 2 - 5 seconds after a liberal spray of Wheel Brightener (diluted 4:1 as recommended by Meguiars). Pic 3 - After another liberal spray of Wheel Brightener, approx. 1 min. after pic 2. Pic 4 - After a good rinse with the hose, approx. 1 min. after pic 3.
TheEdge
Good stuff mate, i generally use water once a week to clean alloys as i dont drive to work and only use my car socially. Meguairs tend to make some good stuff as ive only been recommended it on this forum and wouldnt have taken any ntice of this brand if id walked into Halfords etc. Please let me know the next interval when you clean your wheels again good to notice as rain etc Autumns is just round the corner!! GTiMK5
[ QUOTE ] Pic 1 - Wheel before I started. Over 6 weeks worth of brake dust. [/ QUOTE ] Takes mine just a few days to look like that. Looks good stuff though, would it be ok on the GTI 18's with the lacquer finish?

[/ QUOTE ] The wheels were actually blacker than they look in that pic - the digi camera must of adjusted the exposure and brightened up the pic. My wheels are clearcoated, so it should be fine with yours.
Andy_PC
Damned good stuff this - and VERY well priced given that you dilute it down too!
Gren
Am about half way through a gallon bottle that I bought 2 years ago! Similar to the Hot Rims stuff but a whole lot cheaper! Gotta admit though I usually have to use a brush as well although they do gleam when finished. Not any sign of damage (other than the kerbing) on a 3 year old set of RSTTs. NeilScarrott
Looks like a good product, does anybody know if this product is likely to remove wax on the wheel?
apreading
I would be surprised if it didnt remove wax to be honest. Anything strong enough to get rid of caked on brake dust must be pretty pokey. Maybe if you diluted it enough to lower its performance it wouldnt take the wax off. I found it much better than hot rims by the way - I had old stuff which HR wouldnt shift but Wheel Brightener did. Must order a big bottle from C&S - my sample has just about run out!
