We've noticed that there tends to be a core of people who attend the various meets but there's an awful lot of members out there who don't attend any of the meets. So we'd like to find out why.

We'd also like take on board any sensible suggestions / improvements / comments that people want to make about the existing meets. What can we do better? What do you want from a meet?

Here's a list of the regular meets we have running at the moment

Milton Keynes (usually 1st Wednesday of each month)

Chelmsford (usually 3rd Thursday of each month)

Windsor (always last Wednesday of each month)

Portsmouth (usually 2nd Tuesday of each month - may change)

North East meet (usually a Sunday - dates & location vary)

Northern (Lancs) meet (usually 3rd Monday of each month)

For what it's worth....

I can't recommend meets highly enough. Overall you'll meet a bunch of goods guys (and girls, but not in the Northeast, unless you include Omi), have plenty of opportunity to have a close look at other cars, find that you're not the only one who can rant endlessly about motoring....and have a damn good laugh whilst doing so.

They can be short meets or long meets - it really doesn't matter. I've been to them in the Northeast and to an MK meet (with more to come hopefully), as well as a mini-meet with a member from the Essex area - and it's a good opportunity to put faces to names and discover that people share your own interests and that their offline persona's are generally good company with good conversation.

If you haven't been to one - try it. 169144-ok.gif

Incidentally, unlike a lot of other car clubs that I have been to meets with....you'll find no snobbery (general or inverse). It doesn't matter what you drive, you'll be made welcome. 169144-ok.gif

I can only agree with Chris' post! I have made some good friends from going to meets!!

I do feel we need some more female meet goers though, especially single ones grin.gif169144-ok.gif

If you havent been to a TSN meet, get yourself along to the next possible one, Even you LODDERS 169144-ok.gif

and as a plug, there is a meet at Castle Combe next Saturday and a TSN night out on the evening 169144-ok.gif

I have to agree with MrMe. I'm a bit of a meetwhore I must say, but that's because I enjoy meeting like-minded people who share a genuine interest. Most importantly, as he says there is NO snobbery whatsoever (apart from the odd gag about Omi's impending front-wing-rusting-itself-off post) and it just goes to show that us TSNers really are geniune, decent chaps.

So keep your eyes on the Meets section and get off your arses!

Is it worthwhile putting a link to this in all the forums?

I say that because in the LoJ only regular users of it will see it - and let's face it the majority of us are the LoJ users. There are lots of users outside of the LoJ who I've never heard of - but who post regularly.

The GTi forum springs to mind in particular - lots of posts and lots of people. Be good to see a few of them at meets.

I havne't attended a meet for a few reasons -

1) Crap car that isn't even mine.

2) New to TSN

3) As far as I'm aware, no meets have happened since I joined

4) I'm at uni.

grin.gif Poor reasons !! tongue.gif

1 - Type of car doesn't matter a jot

2 - All the more reason to get along to a meet

3 - Check the Meets section - I think the MK has happened since your joining

4 - If you're at uni then you must have more freetime than you know what to do with !

I think weekends would be a far better option all around to be honest. I'm usually able to attend meets mid week and that is ok too, but entirely dependent on that specific week's agenda. Also, think that now the evenings are getting darker so much earlier, the meets would be better on a Sat or Sun, so we can all have a gander at each other's cars in the daylight and not by torchlight.

Will definately be aiming to get to other meets over the next few months as well as the usual Portsmouth and Windsor meets. Will have to get up to one of the Northeast meets one of these days as well.

If anyone is in the area around Surrey Heath or North Hampshire, I'm happy to give em a lift to either Portsmouth or Windsor meets if they aren't able to get there. 169144-ok.gif

I`ve just been to the A4 cab meet in Dorset back in July. Even though I wasn't driving an A4 [or indeed, any type of audi or cab!] I was made to feel welcome. Thanks again to Tony for putting me up for the night and Ian for suggesting I make the trip 169144-ok.gif

I also met up with Tian when the BTCC came to Snetterton.

I haven't ruled out going to other meets... only it`s a trek and a half just getting out of Norfolk!
