Has anyone had an upgarde with this engine and transmission. Is it noticeable, Can 2 wheel drive handle it, Which one REVO, AMD or Superchips? DeanW Posted October 17, 2005 Report Share Posted October 17, 2005 I can't speak for this particular model but I had my 1.8T cabriolet remapped by AMD and it's made a massive difference. It's condiserably quicker but still retains the smooth feel it had as standard - I'd definately recommend it to anyone. The warranty issue is a bit of a grey area, if Audi can prove that your remap has caused whatever problem you are trying get fixed under warranty then you may have a fight on your hands, if the issue is not directly caused by the remap then you should be ok - this will obviously vary from dealer to dealer! Without wanting to tempt fate I've never heard of any horror stories and quite a few people have had remaps on cars still under warranty. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Re-Map made a great difference to the performance and I don't think there are any down sides to it at all. In fact I'd second everything that Cab Lad has said. Not too sure about the Multitronic 'box though. I'm sure if you speak to Jim at Star he could advise you and probably tweak the map for the Multitronic...................
