Can anyone point me where i can find the differences between the regular model and the s-line.

Do they have any mechanical difeerences?

Another one.. A friend told me that there 2 models with the 1.8T engine, producing 167bhp and 190bhp, is this the case?

Sorry for all these questions confused.gif but i'm new into audis and i want to get the model that best suits me wink.gif

Welcome to Tyresmoke! 169144-ok.gif

If you're talking about the B6 (not the new shape) A4, there was a Special Edition 1.8 that was pushing 163BHP, and the S-Line pushing out 190BHP.

The 1.8T S-lines have a harder ride due to stiffer suspension and it's lowered too.

No doubt Bub will correct all of the above, but I'm fairly certain that's how it was!

Depending on what year model you go for, the Sport and Sline's had the GmbH body kit fitted which made the car much meater looking.

The B6 cabrio only ever came with the a 163 PS 1.8T engine.

The s-line was only introduced over here this year and the extra £1200 (over the cost of a Sport) bought you:

18" 5-arm wheels

Half leather interior

Aluminium fascias

Slightly different suspension set up

S-line badges

Perforated leather steering wheel

Personally, I would go for the 3.0 V6 if you can afford it.

One thing to be aware of if you are buying new is a facelifted cab is about to be launched with the new engine line up which will include the 2.0T FSI engine which is 200 PS

So the cabrio has the 163ps engine only right? and the s-line features lets say cosmetic changes not mechanical?

I prefer the b6 facelift than the b7, the engine i think can be switched over with no extra modifications rather than the ecu and harness

Just to clear up any ambiguity it also only came with the uprated 190 bhp 1.8 turbo engine. I think it also had additionally over the special edition model model interior light pack, self dimming interior mirror, split fold rear seat, follow-me-home lights and body kit. This was only witht the B6 sallon and Avant. They also came with a six-speed gear box but I'm not sure how that compares to the cooking models.

When the B7 came out the S-line pack was diluted and more expensive.

Milo is spot on regarding the 1.8T engine in the cabriolet, it only ever came with 163ps. The 190ps engines were available in the saloon and avant though.

The 3.0 is a cracking engine as standard and is a great choice but I had my 1.8T remapped not long ago and it's a totally different machine now, similar power output to a 3.0 but retains the fuel economy - personally I think this is the way to go 169144-ok.gif

Pambs - just a thought but I have the B6 Audi Cabriolet brochure as an Acrobat file (.pdf) and it has the details of the Base, Sport and S-Line specs. It is for the UK market but might give you a bit more info on what the spec levels were and what equipment they had.

If you want a copy, send me a private message with an email address and I'll send it 169144-ok.gif

Ahah, that would make sense!

Those wheels are the 5 arm Aero wheels which would therefore make this 2003 03 car a standard model (I'm sure it's not a Sport)

Those wheels are just awful! suicide.gif

My wife wonders why blokes get so attached to their wheels....I think I'll print this page and maybe even she will have to agree.
