Woppum
I read in this weeks autocar, scooby sales and hugely reduced as people are waiting out for the new evo. Apparently people are all ready putting their names (deposits?) down for the new Evo 18 months before it is due to be released! Do you think this is worth doing? Can you imagine there being a waiting list for the car when it comes out? If they make it a bit nicer inside I can see myself liking it!
Mollox
Yep, the magazines have finally turned on the Impreza and calling it dated and crude. Strange how only a couple of months ago they had no issues with it and now its suddenly aged. I imagine a lot of that is to do with the interior and probably apathy towards the new nose. Its always been a fairly crude (but very effective) mechanical package. So you're saying the new EVO 18 is only months away?
RedRobin
Oh dear! I've fallen in love twice this week!! First with a Reef Girl and now the Evo X. Plenty of pics of both exterior and interior here: web page Both in red!
Winton
I'm sure that it will be mega fast but i can't help thinkin that it looks like someone who has been punched in the mouth....
RedRobin
....True. It's not going to win any prizes for elegance but plenty for raw power. Looks far better than any Ford ST, Vauxhall VXR etc imo.
TriGGa
that looks so "hardcore", i cant think of any other word, but simply phwaaaor! that dodge caliber ad.. "ive soiled myself".. perfect for this car!
loddrik
Because it does indeed resemble a caliber....
TriGGa
nooooo no no i didnt mean it like that, the dodge doesnt deserve that advert, because it doesnt inspire that response but seeing the evo x approaching fast in ur mirror surely would? RedRobin
I went in to my local Mitsubishi dealer today and he tried to insist that he knew every Mitsi vehicle coming out in the next 2 years and he had never heard of the Evo Concept-X!! I left him to Google it and give me a phone call. Fecking dealers are all the same.
Sheeps
They can get rid of the silver/white trim for a start. Then make somewhere for the number plate so it doesn't look like you've attached it with cable ties and then, they can make the wing mirrors more in proportion with the car. Then give me a free one for my constructive critism.
RedRobin
Oh dear! I actually dreamt about the Evo X last night. I was told they could ship one in for a test drive and that if I liked it I could have one next year (2007)....Then I woke up!

Cupramax
Somehow they've managed to ruin it, it looks so similar but it seems to have lost all the imposing stature of the concept...
RedRobin
That Lancer looks 'orrible!! (IMO). The Evo Concept X is quite a different car if I'm correct.
silentandy
Auto Express have the first pictures of the production version. A bit toned down from the original concept but still aggressive looking. Interestingly it will be available with a paddle shift gear box. kerbside
I wonder what the paddle shift is like in them. Mitsu never fitted a 'fly by wire' accelerator on these because they couldn't get one to work any better than the traditional cable method so if they have gone for a paddle shift I'd imagine its because they have made one that genuinely works well. Might make clutches last longer now!
RedRobin
Those production car version pics are really disappointing. The pics I posted earlier in the thread and in another thread in this forum, show a much better quality car imo. Even the paint job looks cheap by comparison. I don't doubt the car's mechanical credentials though!

cah
I would personally like to see an EVOX coupe for 30,000GBP....Any thoughts??? There is just something a bit iffy with a four door sports car IMO. I'm nowhere near a mid-life crisis, no children, but technically the car looks a superb alternative to the 135i coupe and the S3, 330coupe, audi TT and is in the ballpark in terms of price.
