[/ QUOTE ] dunno, but the air con windscreen demister on all the Audis I've had seems to clear ice quicker than the heated front screen I used to have on my old Mondeo. thefast1
When I push the windscreen demister button all it seems to do is turn the fan speed up to max and still takes atleast 5-10mins to clear the screen, heated screen on the wifes Focus clears in 2-3 mins. PetrolDave
Heated front screen is an option in some countries - but not the UK.
Sparky
I must admit, my front screen clears very quickly when the demister is turned on.

Kell
I was under the impression that the technology required to make a heated front screen was invented by Ford and they will not licence it out to any other company. So you'll only find heated front screens in Ford cars or Frod motor Group cars (Jaguar etc).

[/ QUOTE ] Nah - Ford don't make glass remember. Heated screen technology has been around for years: Wirh front screens, the wires are just thinner and there are just more of them, sandwiched between the two layers of glass with laminate. Chrysler Voyagers, 7 series BMWs, Range Rover Mk2s etc feature them for example. Ian

[/ QUOTE ] Had a really icey morning out my way a few days ago. Started my TDI A4 and then went to my other-half's Fiesta. Her heated screen did the job by the time I had scraped her side windows, but the big surprise was that my screen had started to clear too....and I hadn't even turned on the demister!
