cruiser647
This is the dilemma a geezer at my place is having. He has a 150 GTi at the mo, just got a Mini Cooper and hates it. So going back to a Golf. I have advised him to go to the 4Motion!!! as it has that lovely V6 sound. But it has wood inerds. He has been in one, and loved it, but will take them both for a drive. Also there are those magical three little words - four Wheel Drive! Or magical three letter - G T i! I know you can tune the GTi more, but he is not into that. MPG - he gets upto 40 from his current GTi, and would probably get upto 30 from the 4Motion - so hmmmm. The 4Motion is subtle. Hopefully, the V6 will win the day. s4_sat
i'd go for a normal gt tdi 150 cos it hasn't got the anniversary kit and if you take the gt badge off and put some 14" steelies on, then it would be a proper sleeper.
A3Floyd
GTI Anni for me one of the only Mk4 golfs that i liked enough to consider buying and that includes the R32. Seems to be a good compromise on looks, performance and cost to run.

Bungle
Well, I like the v6 4mo. Its great as a motorway car, albeit less fun on the twisties. Depends what kind of driving your friend does.

cruiser647
[ QUOTE ] V6 4Mo...?? No, no and thrice no, if there's a GTI on offer [/ QUOTE ] Sorry, I am a large engine fan. I prefer the sound of large multi cylinder engines. Not sure what this geezer will choose - willa sk him tomorrow at work, as he is not the type to sit about deliberating about cars...... cruiser647
My mate has decided on the V6 4Motion! He was taken for a spin in one, and wants one. He has sold his Golf GTi and has nearly sold his Cooper S. He's chomping on the bit for it though. He wants silver with black leather and pref 5 doors, but will live with 3.
