belperandy
Just seen this. Didn't think they were even available to "Buy Know" so to speak. Thought you could only order them. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-R32-BRAND-NEW_W0QQitemZ4591917388QQcategoryZ9873QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Mook
No reason to suspect it's not genuine, esp as it has a reserve price and a starting price set at £26K - £28,150 as Buy It Now is probably as per the retail spec. I would guess it's a VW garage that wants to flog its demonstrator... I can only think that when they were putting in all the info about the car, they mis-typed 36 months for the warranty - you have to fill in so much guff when you sell a car on eBay. The cassette player is a default option as well. A silver one is not for me though...

Mook
Not decided yet, until I see the ones I think will be right in the flesh. Saw a DBP up close in the paddock at the MPH Show yesterday. Waiting to see a black one and the dark grey one. Or should I go for the custom £5K metalflake orange... R32North
But its only a standard 3 door, with leather / heated, etc and that would come in at approx £25.5k, so he/she is trying it on at £28k!!!!!!!!!

I would guess it's a VW garage that wants to flog its demonstrator... [/ QUOTE ] But if it's a demonstrator then why does it only have delivery miles on the clock? Surely VW won't be too happy with a garage selling a demonstrator (they usually have to keep them for x miles before they can sell them), I think there maybe some tax law (or some other legal point) which determines when a demonstrator can be sold. Also, if I owned a VW garage and had an R32 in (not all of them do) then I'd keep it, as the no-one is likely to buy an R32 from a garage that doesn't have one availabe for test drive... Mook
There's no laws stating what you can and can't do with a demonstrator, and VW do not impose any restrictions on how many miles a car has to do before it's sold. The drawback of registering a car to a garage as a demonstrator is exactly that, it will have one previous recorded owner when the first owner buys it. It could also be a private buyer who ordered one absolutely yonks ago and has just taken delivery of it. Not overly likely, but still a possibility if someone knows someone at VW..? You could always ask them using the Ask Seller a Question in eBay... It does get my goat a bit that most eBay posts are regarded with suspicion by the TsN community. I agree that there are a lot of scams out there, but, having successfully sold three of my own cars on eBay, it really works. And a damn sight better than Autotrader these days... Mook
[ QUOTE ] That's some options list!!!! [/ QUOTE ] It is Wayne, but it's the list for all Golfs - you need to check the R32 column to see what's extra. Not done the sums yet, but I wonder how much you could get an R32 up to with every option on the list... OK done the sums: 5 door DSG - £25,575 Every extra you can get - £5,845 Total price - £31,420 For a Golf! That's more than my first house cost For everything else, there's Mastercard...
