Alphamail
Martin, couldn't agree with you more. I had a very similar experience, I wanted a faster hatchback having owned a 120d which I really liked. I test drove all the relevant Audi's including the 3.2 A3's and A4's and the VWs. Nothing compared to the 130, mind you they were all good cars, I'm not damning them. I have owned a 130Msport for about four months and I still love it. The space thing is an issue if it is a major prerequisite, for me it isn't.Although, having said that, my wife is now pregnant with twins and I've started to look at estate cars! She's got a 330ci convertible and I'm trying to negotiate a way of trading that in for a new 530i estate so I can keep the go kart! What do you think of my chances? She's due in October so at least I've got the Summer in which to lose my licence! Welcome to the club.

martin275
I think a 530i Touring would be just about perfect! Make sure it has a sunroof and you wife might not notice! I just wish I could drive the 130 more. I only get chance at the weekends and then I usually have the family with me so I can't 'enjoy' it as much as I'd like. I must make more of an effort
Alphamail
[ QUOTE ] Haven't seen you on here in a while James! Welcome back! [/ QUOTE ] Hi Dave, how's it going? Are you still enjoying the car? I went past a speed camera in Wales doing something naughty and then half an hour later got stopped by the police on the M4. I won't quote the speeds in case they read this but I haven't received a summons for the camera and the police let me off! In a way I'm glad I don't do a lot of out of London driving because I think I would be sans licence now. I think it would make a great track day car. There's a silver 130 in my street...the cheek of it! How's yours?

I keep learning more and more about the car as time goes on, but sometimes I do wish it had a slippy diff. Apart from that, this car is a monster I would love to take it on a track session, but at the moment I can't afford a whole new set of tyres! I am going on the caterham "drift school" at Silverstone though in July - and can't wait for that! Sounds like you were lucky on the speed camera/police front, and looks like someone admired your choice of car and went and got themselves one! I haven't seen any others in my neck of the woods!....
