Naresh
Hi mate, Yes you can fit a spoiler to the A3 I have fitted the Caractere one which is quite deep and aggressive looking and almost indentical to the S3 spoiler! Expect to pay around £95 to either Awesome-gti.co.uk or Martyn at parts. It comes matt black primed so to paint and fit should cost you around £90 or so. Apparently the S3 spoiler can also fit by cutting off the securing bolts and glueing it on, but it costs around £60 more than the Caractere. Loys fitted it himself because the adhesive came with it but I would get the bodyshop to do it as it needs to trimmed a bit at the top to make it fit flush with the tailgate. CARACTERE 007
i went to the audi dealer spent £150...and got a pile of cak,....aparently the "audi" spolier is made by MS design and not audi (this is audi uk for you!!),...which is a pile of pants,...i put it on to see what it looked like when i got home and the thing when placed in position, didnt stand out, actually it stuck out about 2 cm from the top of the c pillar,.....which is a complete waste of time. caractere do a very S3ish spoiler for £120 at http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/ and doesnt carsten at s3 tuning duberry do one at 99 euros? which is a copy of an s3 one? the crappy ms design spoiler was a two pack glue jobby, i was quoted £75 to fit it and spray that is the cheapest i could find...most of the gits wanted around £150!!...ohh make sure they bake it !!...my mate had it done somewhere and they didnt bake it and it had small specs of dust etc on close inspection,...which isnt on really....good look when are we gonna get some picys of the beast! Naresh
Caractere (see where the name comes from now!!), I also had the Audi one originally and what a total waste of money!! real shite bit of plastic so I got my local body shop to rip it off, break it into as many pieces as possible and replace it with the caractere one! I still haven't even got around to posting pics of it yet!!
rockstar
so the spoiler will cost me £95 say and the cost of getting it sprayed and fitted by a garage another £90 ! little change of £200! sometimes i wish id never found this site! its costing me a fortune!!! would you guys say it worth the money, make the car look "even" better? or not that fantastic (not counting the ms audi one which by your comments is pants anyway) wont be even able to get this to end of january, skint with chrimbo..remote locking...rear lights...christ need a second job! r3hep
the Caractere item is top notch but the fit can be a little hit and miss... The S3 can be treated exactly the same and bonded on but it will need priming and painting... The "official" audi supplied spoiler for the A3 is about as pants as pants can be so opt for Caractere or the S3... I imagine Martyn has some piccies on his site for A3 body styling... check out http://www.vagparts.com
dafunkymonkey
A pic of the PI spoiler can be found here It's not a bad website. The choice of colour leaves alot to be desired though, and from the angle, it's not clear what the spoiler truly looks like...hope that helps. Ben
Personally I'd save the cash up for a change of wheels. A spoiler is more of a finishing touch. Let me know if you're after a set of T sport 16" Comps
