UBM
I head read the Da Vinci Code already, which the UBM book review awarded 9/10 too. Then read "Angels and Demons" - it is quite like the Da Vinci Code - set on Italy and Rome and the plot hinges around Vatican City and the papal elections. Every bit as good as the Da Vinci Code IMHO - 9/10. I also read the other two. The first was "Digital Fortress" about the US Intelligence Agencies and a SuperComputer. Also very good and plenty of twists and turns - but not quite as good. However, different to the others - 8/10. The last one, "Deception Point" concerns a meteroite in the snow! It is alsoa good read, but a little far fetched - 8/10.
NewNiceMrMe
Stephen Fry called the Da Vinci Code 'utter garbage' and I have to say that after reading it on holiday earlier this year I agree with him completely. I must be missing something in it that everyone else saw. Perhaps I tried treating it too seriously.
UBM
Yes - I would read Dan Brown books as you would watch a james Bond film - its usually far too good to be true!
Mac
I thought the Da Vinci Code was quite a good 'story' - problem is the bits he used from proper history were twisted and if you knew the real version of the history he was talking about it made the book a little difficult to follow. Top piece of work though Probably his best book to date IMHO.
Sponge
My wife loved the book and is desperately trying to get me to read it. But I'm finding it hard to find the motivation to open it. I get bored easily reading books and it seems like it might be too much hard work. Having said that, I started reading 'The World According to Clarkson' this morning and while not a book in the real sense, it's highly amusing and I've nearly finished it (which is quick for me). mccombie_5
Read all of the DB books, I liked them, The DaVinci Conde being my favourite. Followed by Deception Point, Angels and Demons, and then Digital Fortress. Was all good, I dont take books to seriously anyway, it was something to read on an evening (i dont watch TV much)

Sponge
I've just finished Clarkson's book and I think it was great. Every single page made me smile; most made me laugh out loud; and I found myself agreeing with everything he wrote. I've never read a book from cover to cover as I did this one. Only down side I can see, is I now have nothing to do until my shift finishes at 0700...
Drillslinger
Hmm, well I'm almost halfway through Digital Fortress and found Deception Point MUCH easier to get into. Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons were (IMHO) page turners I think that if I'd read them in order, i.e. A&D first, then I'd be able to rate it slightly better than Da Vinci That said, I await the Solomon Key almost as anxiously as I await Harry Potter
UBM
I bought another book called something like "Understanding the Da Vinci Code" - which is a serious book on the truth and myth behind all the stories in the Da Vinci code. Will post full details soon!
DaddyDub
Ive read Da Vinci Code and am half way through Angels and Deamons. IMO the later is the better book so far. Cant wait for the Da Vinci Code movie later this year (June?). When is the Soloman key out then?

It should make a fantastic film, which kinda says it all. Talking of proper literature, I'm just getting stuck into David Copperfield. Oh, and Louis Theroux's The Call of the Weird. NunchukHamster
I'm lucky in that whilst at work I spend most of my time reading, usually 3 to 5 books a week. I've read all the Dan Brown books, and thought they were ok, my preference being Angels & Demons. Have just got a copy of "The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail", so will be interesting to see just what Dan Brown "adjusted" in the Da Vinci Code.
