safety69
I got a 1997 a3 1.6 sport, and not sure if it has the BOSE sound system, it has the big rear speaker in the left hand panel of the boot not sure if this is standard or BOSE. If it was BOSE where would i find the amplifier? thanks people
audiquattro
It should have Bose written on the side of the subwoofer box in the left hand compartment. You can find the amplifier in the opposite side compartment in the boot tucked behind the foam sheet that too should havebose written on it. safety69
gonna go check in a minute, because at the moment i haven't got the original audi radio, got a aftermarket pioneer which was in it when i bought it, sound is only coming out of the front speakers, gotta change the connections to ISO standard fitting i think. ChrisT
Some other ways of checking. Stereo will say Bose briefly when powered up. Sub (or large speaker to some ) If you can see 1 speaker its a normal setup, 2 its Bose. Also some cars though not many have Bose written on the speaker grilles. ChrisT
If you have an aftermarket stereo, you need a wiring loom adaptor as the rear speakers are amped (as you have the sub) so you need to feed the signal out of your rear pair of preouts. Autoleads do something suitable for not much.
