BlackSheep
I'm considering fitting one of these to eliminate the need to scrape / de-ice every morning - has anyone got any experience of these / know anyone who's done it? Are there any other alternative options? Any ideas for the location of the "elegantly designed button"? skifly
is it possible to get OEM heated jets or am i just being naiive thinking it should be relatively simple?
jd6677
Yeah I think you can retro fit the heated washer jets. I know someone who fitted it to a Passat and Golf. AFAIK its just a matter of getting a couple of parts and installing them .A local VW Parts Dept should be able to help you out failing that I can look up ETKA for you JD
mikemod
I have the heated washer jets and they didn't help the other day when the temperature was -5c. I had plenty of concentrate in my bottle and the funny thing was the washer jets on the lights worked fine. I ended up hitting the washer 5 times to activate the headlight washers, the overpspray was enough to hit the windscreen. But the windscreen washer jets still hadn't defrosted by the time I got to work.
RedRobin
....That's good news . I would def like to retro fit them. I'm calling my dealer/service dept. What does "ETKA" stand for please?
Stabb
may be a silly question but....Is there a risk that this might crack the windscreen in extreme cold conditions, like the UK?
stevie_d
[ QUOTE ] may be a silly question but....Is there a risk that this might crack the windscreen in extreme cold conditions, like the UK? [/ QUOTE ] Shouldn't do. I would imagine that the water that comes out is lukewarm at best. My heated washer jets on my MKIV certainly don't warm the water much I guess the 60c feature is probably an overstatement.
