a8wpg
I know it's not an R32 but can anyone give me an idea as to the best place to get the VF stage 1 kit for my mk4 V6 4mo from in the UK? VF have told me that it is almost identical to the R32 kit. Vag-Tuner are a VF dealer but are quoting £3.8k which I think is a bit steep, any ideas buddys? Dan32
What about NS (Nik Saran) Racing. 020 8951 3095 in Middlesex.
JasT
Is it not possible to import a kit yourself from the US? They work out cheap(ish) when you convert dollars to pounds.
Mook
www.nsracing.com - talk to Raj. Don't source a VF s/charger kit from NS Racing if it is going on an R32, because you will end up having to visit AmD to get their remap applied, because the GIAC remap that VF supply does not work with UK spec'd R32s. You could import the kit yourself, but don't forget about import duties - because it's coming in from a commercial company (i.e. VF) US law requires that they declare the full value of it. More often than not, it works out quicker, cheaper and a lot easier to source anything from the US via a UK distributor if they have one - and it makes it a shed load easier if anything is wrong with the kit supplied. Dan32
Or tie in a little vacation and bring it back in your luggage. Probably cheaper to get a plane ticket than it is to pay import on something from the States!
BigMeanBob
Mook, the Giac code works fine on UK cars...thats what I'm running at the moment with no problems at all... b0b
JasT
b0b, what mods (other than the s/c) has your car got? I'm very interested in a s/c kit and would be more so if I knew it was an easy fit, with no hassles.
BigMeanBob
Just whats in my tagline JasT. Previously had APR chip (waste of fecking time) and carbonio intake...both of which are removed for the s/c. Up next is Haldex Controller, then ECS tru-float brakes, then on to the stage 2 kit. Oddly, I've still never bothered with the high-flow cats. Not entirely convinced that they make the slightest bit of difference on the stock car. Will prolly wait and see how I feel with the stage 2 kit. b0b

[/ QUOTE ] Hey Bob, that's good news. When I started looking into s/chargers and spoke to NS Racing originally, Raj told me to talk to AmD (who had already done a load of work on my car) because there were major problems with the GIAC software. Depending on who you talk to, (allegedly) AmD rewrote the GIAC remap for the s/c stage one and sent it back to VF, so hopefully that's what VF now ship with UK cars
