RedRobin
What's a "Golf GTI 2.0 non turbo"? A Mk4 GTI? Make it "better" in what way? Performance? Looks?

mixit
A 2.0 GTi must surely be a Mk3? As for Pearlescent paint, I would say it has had a respray.
Snoopy
could be a mk4 They made the GTI in the UK with the 2.0 it replaced the earlier mk4 base GTI car that had the Audi A3 1.8 20V engine. It could even be a mk5 2.0 FSI GT

joffan
I used to have a Mk 4 GTI 2.0 115 bhp, nice car great interior, very well put together, very underpowered, traded it in for a Mk 5.
shao_khan
2.0 GTi was made up until quite late in the life of the MKiv. Welcoem to Tyresmoke Conkerjoe. Performance increases on the 2.0 are pretty tough to achieve, steer clear of induction kit, more likely to end up with a MAF fail than better performance. Problem with it being normally aspirated is that chipping doesnt give much. Suspension and brake mods are plenty, so even if outright performance isnt there, you can make it handle pretty spot on. RedRobin
I agree with what you are saying, SK - People under estimate what good mod suspension does.
shao_khan
To right - my yellow beetle is as underpowered as it gets - but with some careful suspension work it is almost as fast across MK as some far faster vehicles that need to slow for corners! RedRobin
It feels wonderful not having to brake for some corners and for those you do need to brake for, the car has no nose-dive and remains flatly planted I know what the MK road system is like too. Those Koni FSDs are so smart in their behaviour too . Next time you do a suspension def check them out.
