ircool
I was expecting delivery of my new mobile in March / April and called the stealer to get a definite date. I was a little concerned when they "couldn't locate the order" (Which was placed in July 2005) Today I recieved a call from the MD saying they did not actually process the order for my car!!! Seems some sales person left two days after my order was taken and a whole lot of vehicles slipped through the cracks. The best they can do is August / September and put my name on the top of the cancelation list. With the waiting lists in SA it is still the best lead time I can get. Brabus
Feck me! That is bang out of order, but not your problem. Give them hell and tell that you'll take your business elsewhere if they don't sort something out.
spankit
Think they owe you something... A sweetner of some sort, maybe a free option.
JonoNZ
My goodness, I feel for you. Definately some substantial sweatener from the dealer is in order I would think. Could VW SA do anything?
ircool
VW SA are about to recieve a letter... I can only hope it has an effect!!
RedRobin
VW SA won't be pleased about how their representative (your dealer) has let you down as a customer and are bound to put pressure on the dealer. So you should be in a strong bargaining position if you hype up all the consequences of the dealer's gross inefficiency. Be polite but firmly pissed off and ask them how they would act if they were in your position. Good Luck.
doneill
If VW SA are anything like their Australian cousins they wouldn't have any concerns regarding poor customer service. I ordered my GTI at the beginning of June and VW Australia still can't provide a delivery date. Their latest email to the dealer says build and delivery in March which is a bit of a joke because the average time between build and delivery for Aussie GTIs is 7 weeks. Even the dealer is tearing his hair out because he has provided me with a vehicle to use until my vehicle arrives and can see all his profit disappearing. RedRobin
To be fair I think that the issues over manufacturing and hence delivery dates are not in any national importer's control (VW SA, VW UK, etc). What they are in control of and responsible for is customer service applying to all other VW subjects.
ircool
I have done some digging and the dealership is owned by a large holding co. that is not directly linked to VW SA. Sent a letter demanding action to the regional manager who looks after this specific dealership. I'll keep you posted
mainy
Blimey I genuinely feel gutted for you, that is bang out of order I've just had a similar experience with a golf club membership which was resolved by talking to the right people That dealer should be kissing your ass big time. Free servicing for the life of the car would be about the right level of compensation IMHO
