Leandros
Has anyone with Multifunction steering wheel regret ordering it? Is it a worthy option??
RedRobin
No regrets whatsoever, though it came as standard with DSG.
stevie_d
[ QUOTE ] No regrets whatsoever, though it came as standard with DSG. [/ QUOTE ] Does it? I thought only the flappy paddles came as standard? If it does come as standard then you've just made me an even happier boy
rowley
only paddles are standard unfortunately. No buttons on my steering wheel, only paddles. Not too bothered though
nbetts
I am amost certain I paid around £500 for my Steering wheel; Anyway, the wheel is very useful as I toggle through the highline computer all the time, change radio stations, change CD tracks... use volume and mute quite a lot as well. One of the nicest features if you ask me.
stevie_d
How do you change the features on the highline if you don't have a multifunction steering wheel?

I ordered DSG and mine came with the MultiFun wheel - Perhaps I ordered it as well, I don't remember.
rs32
[ QUOTE ] How do you change the features on the highline if you don't have a multifunction steering wheel? [/ QUOTE ] you go into the highline computer before starting the engine, doors closed, then ignition on to the point where the vehicle picture is displayed in the MFD. then press the top button on the wiper stalk end, and you should be able to scroll through the menus. use the top/bottom buttons on the wiper stalk end to scroll up/down and the button underneath the wiper stalk to select or confirm each option. p16 in the "Controls and Equipment" section of the manual pack. RedRobin
Your Manual/Handbook should have a nice leather cover like this with a red stripe and raised GTI logo (pic to follow - excuse for another pic with my new toy!).
JonoNZ
Well I didn't get one of those, just a plain Golf one for me.
RedRobin
Yes, but you got a whole book with colour photos etc etc !!!!! Btw, any news at your end about the GTI book?
RedRobin
Here's a pic of the badge on the handbook and, though I say it myself, this Fuji FinePix F11 is one hot little camera! EDIT: Sorry for going a bit off topic.
Muppetboy
I thought the £350 was outrageous that the stealer quoted for MFSW! Surely it should be standard on a 20k car? Or at least make it reasonable... Don't some supermini's have these as standard now?

[/ QUOTE ] I haven't heard anything back from the dealer yet. Next step is to contact the importer and find out where they're getting them from. My suspicion is that it's sourced from Votex. RedRobin
You could be right. That "Copyright: Volkswagen AG" must be significant.
nhs
Over three hundred pounds is a lot of money to be able to change your radio/phone from the wheel, but once you are used to it, leaning over to a radio/cd etc to change volume etc is "old-fashioned" and more risky if you have to look at it. The highline comes with the MFSW and you can see the channel etc without having to divert your eyes to centre console. Once you are used to a MFSW it's a pain to go back, but it is not great value for money - they are making profits on this!
RedRobin
I agree that it's not the greatest value-for-money but the other extremely useful feature is the ability to control the audio sound volume without taking your hands off the wheel. Rayza
I have the MFSW and yes it is handy and makes life so much easier. But it is a lot of money, I paid £375 (£350 for manual) but you also get highline computer aswell.
RedRobin
I didn't get the Highline with my MultiFun wheel!
Rayza
They added the higline around September 05 and reduced the price to 375. Befor that MFSW was approx 550 iirc and I think you got cruise control with it but no highline (which was pretty stupid of them if you ask me)
RedRobin
Absolutely stupid - In my case I never use Cruise and I regret not having ordered Highline. My car was built July and delivered August 05.
