jonespl
Does anyone know if S3/TT front calipers are the same as the A3T calipers? Cheers Paulo
JayBeeS3
Dont expect them to be the whole config of the S3/TT and the A3 is different so I expect the brakes also
Drillslinger
IIRC the Caliper carriers are the same, but the calipers are different. The S3 and I'm fairly sure the TT's have 312mm discs whereas the A3 (or at least the A3 Quattro) has a 288mm disc.
jonespl
The reason I am asking is because a guy is selling a 1.8T brake upgrade kit (312mm discs & carriers) supposidly 1.8T calipers fit the kit. Paulo
Drillslinger
OK, then I may have the Calipers and carriers backwards But don't forget, with 312mm discs you CANNOT use the std 15" rim. 17's are recommended, and I'm not sure if 16's will fit either
jonespl
No probs there I have 18" RS4 wheels Paulo
Drillslinger
OK then, your std brakes (esp Rear) are looking pretty pathetic, aren't they
r3hep
when i had the A3 i had the front disks uprated to S3 items... AFAIK the callipers are the same but the CARRIERS are different, to accommodate the larger disks... well worth the money though... stopping power is greatly increased! )

gambba
The parts are all different between the S3 and A3 brakes, carriers are different and the housings/calipers are different....all according to the mighty ETKA.
r3hep
think the callipers are the same size... just think the S3 ones are stronger to deal with a bigger master cylinder??? may be wrong though... still a very worthwhile mod if chipping is your goal!
