UBM
Last night I spent four hours looking on t'internet for a possible replacement for the avant. I considered all scenarios, makes, marques, models, with a limit on price from 10k-20k. I could not find anything at all which caught my eye, had less than 40k miles, was an estate (except an S4 avant which did not meet any of the above critera!) Conclusion is, I will be keeping the avant......

Cheap as chips to run too.... nice £2k discount from the stealer to offload it onto me! Aint much out there to better it wehen you have a list of criteria

I was very tempted by a black S4 avant on an 03 plate, with 60k on the clock up for 22k! I would be open to offers on my current vehicle... P_G
B5 RS4 Avant? Seen a couple sub £20K with just over 60K miles on it.
Alastair_A3
Im sure you said something about needing to change because of your wife. I know a S4, RS4 would be fun, but wouldnt it be more expensive to run than your current car? How about an A3 Sportback surprising amount of room in them. What are you looking for in a perfect world. I thought you did quite a few miles to work and back now, Paul - or has that changed again now? Sponge
I can't understand why you're looking at other cars. It seems like you're looking at cars very similar (in price and spec/type) to what you already have - bizarre!

garcon magnifique
I understand it. Generally I manage to keepa car around two years, but invariably that comprises 6 months boring everyone I know about how great my new car is and 18 months boring everyone I know about what I might buy next!
