MOSE
This is an auction that started this morning at 10:30 and is already hitting Au$152k, roughly £64k. It runs for another 10 days, so god knows how much it will sell for!! Good to see that is raising money for a good cause though, just keeping my fingers crossed that the auction doesnt get sabbotaged by loonies. Last Monaro ever made - Ebay link
mixit
Great car, as you well know but as for the eBay listing, I'd be a little dubious. Most of the first bids are all within minutes of each other, plus over 60 in less than 12 hours. Things maybe a little different in OZ but over here, that wouldn't get anything like those kind of bids until it was down to the last day at the earliest. And as for the "Hits" 62,500 in 12 hours .... Hmmmmm .... Guy is a "Newbie" too.

MOSE
[ QUOTE ] Guy is a "Newbie" too. [/ QUOTE ] Not so much a Newbie, more so a one-off seller. Its HOLDEN auctioning the car. Its brand new with only 13km on it. Ya right about the nostalgic value though, its only worth anything to a collector if anyone here, but in Oz I guess its a pretty serious thing! Ahhh well, at the end of the day its for charity

Just a bit odd though 62,500 hits equates to over 5000 per hour 86 hits per minute. For 12 hours FFS. There are obviously a lot of people "pushing" it along. Mook
Does this mean that the Monaro we get in the UK now is going to be replaced with an updated model?
MOSE
There is a rumour that another Monaro will be released in 2008, but I really dont know how true this is or not. After all the fuss they had in Oz of giving the Monaro a good send off and to bury the legend so to speak, only for a leak to get out that another was due for release in 2008......dunno! [/ QUOTE ] The tooling is apparently being shipped to the US to make Pontiac GTOs. As far as I'm aware, there will be no more GMH (and HSV) Monaros (for maybe another 30 years or so)... Mook
Well I can guess how much people in the UK will want a Pontiac. Who remembers the oh so nicely styled Firebird...
