akira
What is the maximum weight one of these can carry? The manual doesn't really say, the reason i ask is that my wife (in her infinite wisdom) has decided she'd like a little part time job so has decided to deliver some phonebooks, some being 700 of em So i've been volunteered to pick them up (there goes any profit for the excercise) and am really not wanting to screw the suspension up. Drewcam
Andy, thers a pug 407 estate delivering phone books in my housing estate now. Its full to the brimm of phone books and allthough its slightly low at the back it doesn't seem to be suffering for it. Be carefull though as this can be deceptive. I once put a quarter pallet of leaflets in the back of my berlingo van that has 600 kilos of carrying weight and nearly broke the van. Didn't look much on the pallet either. Very deceptive

Chris_B
[ QUOTE ] The manual doesn't really say [/ QUOTE ] Does it not? I thought it should list kerb weight and gross vehicle weight, the carring capacity being gross minus kerb (roughly). I had eight bags of sharp sand and cement in the back of my RS 6 once, and it didn't seem to harm it. I suppose if you consider that you could put three 20 stone blokes (with a crowbar to lever them in!) on the back seat and still be within weight limits... _Rupert_
The Unladen weight is 1880kg, the Gross weight limit is 2420kg. Figures are for the Avant, taken from a 2003 hard-back brochure.
