stevie_d
[ QUOTE ] I'd take a punt at 6.0 and 15secs. I think if you expect your figures you're gonna be in for a big shock. [/ QUOTE ] You're bang on mate, the Morego tuned GTI, putting out just over 250bp, does the 60 dash in about 6 seconds. I wouldn't expect much of an improvement over that, even if you put 300bhp through the front wheels, as you'll just be losing traction from the start line. RedRobin
[ QUOTE ] I don't agree. The GPS can be accurate if you maintain a speed on a level road but apart from that they vary and always play catch up. When they do it's often a second of so behind. [/ QUOTE ] ....Nope. Speed display on my New Road Angel shows instantly according to use of throttle with no sense of 'catch-up' being played.
spankit
[ QUOTE ] To give you an idea my megablade was 0-60 in 3.6 and 0-100 in 8.9 and that had about 400bhp/tonne. Think again mate, or get you watch adjusted [/ QUOTE ] hmmmm a megablade, my ducati would do a 0-60 in.....
Metalex
[ QUOTE ] thanks all you guys.... thought those figures would give you a chuckle.. ROFL yes i did hand hold a stopwatch while driving... and yes i do take the figures with a pinch of salt. my remap is giving 265 BHP and 405 Nm/torque. 1 would think 5.5 0-60 and 11.? 0-100 to be a more accurate figure.. will have to get down to santa pod and get it checked properly. is a hoot to drive though... [/ QUOTE ] Nope, not even 11.x is possible. Thank you for the funniest thread ever.
Mollox
What is the official 0-100 for the GTi? I'm thinking 16 or possibly a high 15.x? I think it would be hard for a remap to take even a second off of a 0-100 time... It takes a hell of a lot of grunt to eat away at 0-100 times 11s I'm afraid is positively comical Jays
Simonl
Is this a good time to upload my pictures of my GTI winning LeMans I've only thrashed one '5 second' car (a 993 Carrera 4). On paper it might only be a second or two difference, but in reality it would make mincemeat of my GTI, 2 or 3 leagues apart.
Mollox
I'll answer my own question - Autocar figured the GTi at 18s to 100 16.x tops then! Point of reference: Ferrari F355 Gtb 0-100: 10.6s Jays, here's your wooden spoon

jason_s
thanks guys.... maybe its the 100 yr old whisky im running it on. oh yes and the babe in the ferrari F355 Gtb waved as i blew bast her.... slowed down a little later so i could get her number. ok. on a serious note : how hard is it to time the car accuratly? i did keep up with a porsche boxter very easily. and a scooby on the straights. [/ QUOTE ] A standard car will probably run low 15's,that time you have there is probably for a slighted modded example-putting it in about the same territory as a 225 TT,which would seem about right. The Golf having a bit more power with a remap, but the TT having much better traction off the line.
garcon magnifique
It's not as quick as an E90 330 coupe. They're so fast you can't buy em yet...

Woppum
If i tell you both the Audi RS6 and the Bentley GT does the 0-100 in 11.5 seconds would you still think you could thrash these beasts. A Porsche turbo does it in 10 secs flat (996). Id estimate around 15 secs if your lucky. Id buy a new stop watch
