lowering springs

I think that we are all saying pretty much the same as each other aren't we? In other words that it's critical how much lowering any aftermarket springs achieve and that it's also important to consider the other suspension components. I've only just noticed that the original poster is referring to a Mk4 GTI.

I hope I have misunderstood the original poster but I have a niggle that he is only considering springs and as much as 55-60mm.

Theres so many factors to consider if it will be 'better' or worse.

Most like geometry have been mentioned, but also not fogetting things like wishbone angles, drive shaft angles and other things that may cause premature ware problems in the future.

Also remembering is if you make it too stiff it does not always equate to better handling on public roads as the wheel may spend less time in contact with the contoured road surface especially on a bumpy road.

Theres too so many factors to consider with such a blank statment as it been better or worse.

cheers for all this info. the springs are going on at the weekend followed by camber, toe, and alignment rectification. ive got these springs free and by no means keeping this permanent, but when greater funds are raised im investing in a full FK highsport kit + bushes etc

cheers again

(no more fighting either girls)
