Golf IV - how to disable the auto alarm feature?

I think the easiest option would be to try to make one of the South West meets as I would imagien there would normally be someone there with one (see meets section).

Otherwise check VAGcom section to see if there is anyoen local to you. I am not sure exactly what bits can be activated / deactivated - I know Autolock / beep on lock / onepress unlock can all be done so I dont see why auto arm cant be altered wither.

The auto alarm function should not happen if you open a door or the boot withing 30 sec of unlocking the car mate. It only goes off because the car does not detect a door/boot opening so it locks itself again after 30 sec. That's a standard security feature. if it's doing that on your car when the doors/boot are/is open then something's gone wrong I think. Either:

1. Door lock module/microswitch in one of ther doors (Does the light in the door come on when you open it?

2. A broken rear washer pipe causing leaking into the boot lock - is your rear washer working ok?

Both these are common faults, it's the only reason I know about them!!
