Gti_Fly
Oh you enjoy bickering about cars? Ok then pal, I'll be happy driving in my German motor, whilst you be happy in your DAGENHAM DUSTBIN crusing Southend Seafront on a Friday night, whilst similtaneously cause every twat who reads shite like max power to come running upto your car and giving you the thumbs up. Bo selecta and big up the halfords bodykit and kenwood sticker. Is that fun enough for you?
nicktripper
Ah, you are missinformed, the RS is fully built in Germany! I dont think I would be happy driving a german motor with a dodgey paintjob?
jeremyadamson
Hey fellas.....I don't wanna get involved in mud slinging (I saw an RS on the road yesterday, and me and the wife thought it looked very mean indeed), but I thought that the initial Evo reviews on the Focus RS were good because they were driving it on mainland European roads....and they only started to give it a hard time when it came over here on Blighty roads?? Anyone else remember this?? J.
nicktripper
Yep, they seemed to change opinion over night. Have to agree it is a slightly hard ride, butthats why it corners and handles so well, if you want a squidgy machine, get yourself an R32.

Yes, I agree, EVO initially said great when testing on the track it was developed on, but didn't like it on Brit roads... Anthony.. PS - I like the outside of the RS, didn't like the look of the inside (entirely personal opinion) and the Mrs wouldn't let me have a Ford... jeremyadamson
Thing is....that suggests the reason for their change of opinion, rather than them getting a hard time from Ford about something. The European roads are often quite different, and the initial reviews would have been arranged by Ford on a stretch of road that they know makes whichever car is being tested shine. It was the same thing with the Alfa 156 GTA if I remember rightly.....brilliant on Italian tarmac.....different story over here. J.

nicktripper
Yeah, feesible, I guess we will never know the real reason, was a bit silly though. But I dont buy there mag any more as I dont respect there opinion anymore. I would rather read Clarkson, event hough he does know what he is talking about, he is still funny. I have to say, i would not go out intentionaly to buy a Ford, but once you have driven the RS, you wont be complaining its a ford, it doesnt drive like a Ford. nicktripper
You ok JHT, must of hurt that nail hitting your head, you shold be more careful. Was it one of those nails sticking out the R32's bodywork?

nicktripper
Yes, and while we are on the Subjest, the RS has nicer wheels that the Tuscan, good points JHT!!
Lagoo
ahh yes i was worried about the far superior rims on a RS compared to the Tuscan, hence why i had to change the motor.... Now these rims you cant beat..
nicktripper
If I had those rims I would beat them with a stick! Then again I dont think it would make much difference, looks as though the ugly stick has already had a good go at them.

Fucawi
Someone give Roving a forum for his RS Focus. Then he can get his Focus buddies together and discuss the merits of their car choice, while the rest of us on the VW Forum carry on in ignorance of our expensive, slow and orange peeled R32s. Ignore him and he'll get bored and go away.

nicktripper
Ah picking on the Air Con eh, sheeeesh. Actually, I owuld not say it is the best air con in the world, but it did the job in 99 degs. Did the paint stay on your R32 ok, or it it run off>?
