New 335i is it 3.0L or 3.5L Twin turbo

The News stig item shows the 335i as 300 odd bhp, twin turbo and a 3.0 litre engine (read it if you don't belive me)

So why are BMW calling it a 335i or is the article wrong

Or is it back to the days of 318 have 2.0 litre engines, 325 having 2.4 etc-

I'm lost, help

The 535d is a 3.0 also. I imagine their marketing types feel that badge numbers have more "Golf Club" kudos than the "boring technical bits that no one cares about" so if they called it a 330ti or what ever, they'd be encouraging people to think its "only" a 330...

Unfortunately the days never ended... the current 118d/318d have a detuned version of the 2 litre engine, the 523i actually has a 2.5 litre (as does a 525i, but with higher output), the 535d has a twin turbo 3 litre engine, the 550/650/750 have 4.8 litre engines...
