Installing a Parrot CK3100 in my B7 A4 Avant

Recommended Posts

Hi There

I've just collected my new B7 Avant A4 and I'd like to install my Parrot CK3100 car kit in it.

From reading on here it sounds like I'm going to need a new lead to connect from the audi radio plugs to the ISO that the Parrot kit uses.

I've looked on the sio comms website but there are so many leads etc that I'm totally confused now!

I had the kit in a Golf IV before and the Parrot unit just muted the radio when a call came in or I made one. I didn't have to connect up any other wires than just the ISO ones for this to work - and thats how I'd like it to be on the Audi if possible.

If anyone could assist I'd be very gateful.

Also - I've got the small blanking buttons next to my hazzard warning light switch and the airbag deactivation light switch - how do I take these out? I'd like to mount the parrot screen on one of them - I also presume you can buy them as a spare part individually?

Thanks

I fit these kits everyday and the thing you must be careful of with a parrot and all bluetooth kits is that they need an ignition supply to switch on and cars these days dont often have them in the radios loom as they are switched on via can bus.

Also www.parrot.biz they have a section telling ya what adapters you can get.

The parrot kit comes with optional audio outputs besides the speaker iso's which can be used to pump the audio through the radios phone input but on an audi or VW this is normally not good enough so in the past i have cut the left or right front channel output from the parrot and attached that to the radio's audio input and then just the mute this has worked perfectly on many occasion's and has proven to be the best option however i have an equally amount of times removed the iso's from the parrot totally and spliced the leads directly into the car's wiring loom that way with an equally good result.

This still leaves you with a missing power supply should you need to connect this you should be very careful typically you will set off an airbag warning light probing wires but on an A4 i find that removing the glove box and locating the loom that runs up the left side behind the glove box contains an ignition i think its normally black/brown.
