Sam_UK
I am goign to be ordering an Subaru STI 8 2003 from Japan, and hapened to check the prices in the UK for the EVO 7 and they are some what affordable! What power do these run as standard? Do i need to worry about any mojor engine issues? Is this the sort of car that will break down on my very often? Are there good tuning possibilites for this car to achieve near 350bhp? Is yellow the it color? ;-) Any other info, good car / bad car....failing all i will be getting the STI 8 in.... kerbside
Bad for air intake pipe rubbing on radiator cowling or chassis; Silly knocking noises, strut tops and anti roll bar links wear rapidly. If you drive entheusiastically, best to spash out on clutch replacement stamps! Valve lash adjusters get noisy on high mileage ones. Otherwise very reliable. Just change oil regualrly and use decent new oil. 350BHP achievable easily with intake and exhaust change. Will spoil you for any other car. Makes you look like a great driver even if you are not. Catapult style acceleration. Scooby might sound better and be better set up for motorway or long journeys but Evo is a better drivers car. Looks best in Red or Black. Please don't buy a yellow one, looks more 'council estate dope dealer' than 'Tommi Mak'!
