martin275
Nicely back(ish!) on topic! I do prefer more simple wheels generally, the 18" wheels you get on the S-Line at the moment (5 arm?) are one of my favourite wheels on any car. Can't you have them on the SE? They shouldn't be too difficult to clean.

They are also very easy to clean, you can clean the whole wheel inside and out without removing it! BUB
martin275
Yes, those are the ones…..fantastic looking wheels imo. If you squint a little, the 17” wheels on my Passat look similar and are also fairly easy to clean right inside. Nice looking car btw
Justhe1
The rate the brake dust is coming off my front pads at the moment I'm sooo glad I went for the 5 Arms option on my car.. I guess the amount of dust will reduce as the pads bed in...?!
martin275
I'm almost 5 weeks and 2,800 into my new car and that does seem to be improving, it was dreadful when I first got it.
nordberg
I'm 800 miles in and they are bloody awful. Washed it last night and even after a 20 mile round trip to work and back, they are already looking grey rather than silver (which I actually prefer I might add!). I need to investigate which alloy cleaner to empoy on these bad boys....
bells0
My Cab is coming up to 10k and is awful for brake dust - think it's an Audi thing??? My Zed was 10 times better.
lake_music
I'm 1000 miles in on my Sp Ed and I'm starting to regret not changing them to the 5 arm. Somehow they look smaller than 18" and are an absolute b****** to clean. Couple that with the high front suspension - it does not a good looking car make. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I agree with that - why do they look so small Re cleaning - Virosol followed by heavy use of the power washer does it in < 5 mins per wheel..... Just as soon as i wear my tyres down I think I'm gonna change mine for something different.....
martin275
That's a common problem these days, wheels are looking smaller and smaller as each new car is launched. You need 18" wheels on the new Civic for it to look 'right' and the same can be said for most other small hatches. That's ridiculous.
SPLiiX
Maybe Wheel arches are getting bigger??
