ChrisBuer
I guess it depends on the type of driving you do really…. Personally I went for the winter pack (heated seats etc), parking sensors (they were pretty cheap) and the leather. As I travel about at weekends with the misses, I also went for Sat Nav, but you'll get it cheaper if you go aftermarket. I just wanted something that fitted into the dash neatly so went for the factory option. The .:R itself comes very well specced, so there's not a huge amount of choice of extras really. Considering when I priced up a BMW 130i (don't flame me, it was the misses who liked it ), with a similar spec to the standard Golf, I was looking close on 31k! vindaloo
[ QUOTE ] Personally I went for the winter pack (heated seats etc), parking sensors (they were pretty cheap) and the leather. [/ QUOTE ] If you spec leather you get heated seats anyway, so I think the winter pack for £200 for little more than heated w/washers seems a bit of a rip off. If you want cruise I'd ask your dealer to fit it when the car arrives for £150 rather than the £270 from the factory. I like the centre armrest 'cos I reckon it looks odd without it, but I know others on here don't like it. Highline is a must for £48 or so & folding mirrors if you have a narrow garage entrance (although this is a bit of a swizz as well as they only fold back half way)
petsy
yup, I recon that you save about 5cm per mirror when folded.

So am I correct in saying that you actually have to adjust them manually to open them out once you have folded them in?
TP27
Geo. They are electric, there is a button adjustor (same button to vary the position of the mirrors) and all you do is adjust this and the wing mirrors pop back out again. TP.

Things like cruise/satnav/centre armrest can be retro fitted. Dealer options are limited to things like, ipod i/f, boot mat, luggage nets etc
petsy
there is still a time window to change your specs after ordering from the dealer before it's finally locked by VW.

ChrisBuer
I was told that I could change my spec up to two weeks before it went into production. Not sure how true that is though.
