zerologic
When i use the window wash on my B6 A4 it sprays water on the screen the wipers make one sweep up then really slowly sweep down again untill they stop and stick about 3/4 the way down the screen and stick there for a good few minutes. Anyone else had this? do i need new blades or is the problem something else? Cheers in advance!
UBM
Sounds like the motor?
zerologic
I was hoping someone wasn't going to say that!!! Sounds expensive
paul_tdi
HI Do they work ok on the noraml wiper functions when not using the washers as this could eliminate the motor but as to what it could be.... a module somewhere that is faulty! Sometomes the mechanisms can sieze up causing problems. Good luck! Paul
zerologic
on a normal wipe they make a very slow down sweep but normally make it down to the start position. If i lift the wipers off the screen as if i were cleaning the screen by hand and work the wipers they seem to move ok when not in contact with the screen? P_G
Perhaps they are bent out of position? I had that on a car where they were to close to the screen and the friction was stopping the wiping action. Otherwise or the restraining bolts on the wiper arms are loose. Upwards fine, downwards doesn't work.
zerologic
ok so they now seem to have stopped working all together!! Even when they are lifted off the screen the just sit there! Im guessing it's the motor maybe?? Its not too bad at the moment as its so dry but i can see myself getting stuck in a thunderstorm sooner or later. Anyone had this before? looks like a trip to the garage soon i think!
P_G
Not of my car but a former G/F had this on her fiesta and it was the motor that went. Get in the garage quick, thunder storms forecast for the end of the week!
zerologic
got it booked in for thursday... so hopefully no rain before then!!! The workshop at my local Audi specialist said it sounded like the linkage maybe seized causing the motor to struggle or the motor itself is seized? hopefully i won't need a new motor and a bit of WD40 will do the trick (wishful thinking on my part i think!)
