Paul
Just tweaked my Autoscan file to suit my cars modules... ie 01,My Audi S3, 01,03,08,13,15,17,22,35,37,45,55,56,76 I assume i have to cut and paste this, every update to a newer version of vag com? Also spotted a couple of spelling typo's for Uwe, in the same file (Release 607.2) [ QUOTE ] ; Idividual car owners are encouraged to add a personalized entry ; at the top of this file listing exactly the moules in their car, ; for example: ; ; 01,My Car,01,03,08,09,15,16,17,36,45,46,55,56 ; ; Having only the modules in your exact car will speed up the scan. ; ; last modification: 11/Jun/2006 [/ QUOTE ]

Tobes49
Sure VAG-COM checks to see if the files been modified and makes a back-up copy when installing new versions. cant say I have ever tried it?
peterb
Nope, it doesn't - at least not that I've found. I started keeping a separate copy of my mods after losing them first time I updgraded. It does keep a copy of the lable files.
Sebastian
It doesn't backup the old AutoScan.txt yet, but I'll put that on the wish-list for the next version/installer.

Sebastian
[ QUOTE ] Welcome to TSN. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks. [ QUOTE ] ...great to have another Ross-Tech guru onboard. [/ QUOTE ] Since Uwe is on holiday, it doesn't hurt that someone picks up ideas and answers questions I guess. BTW: In newer models that use CAN based diagnostics (except the A4 B7) one can use "Auto-Detect", which will make VAG-COM only scan those modules which are in the gateway installation list. This has the same effect as making an own/individual entry to the list.
Paul
I have the HEX-USB+CAN Interface but have yet to use it on a CAN Based car. I'll be sure to give that a go, when opportunity pops up.

Sebastian
Doesn't look right. 13 = Distance Regulation (e.g. the Advanced Cruise Control used in A6, A8 and Q7). This is the current Auto-Scan entry for the A3 (8L), you should base yours on this: 8L,Audi A3/S3,01,02,03,08,15,16,17,22,35,37,45,55,56,57,75,
