malagus
i like the dyson alot, though some people say that henry is very good, and the same with oreck(sp), though i don't have experience of these.
Tomk
yup henry is good but im not keen on them , like an upright , there are quite a few around ebay at £80 just not sure if my money could get me something better / new
malagus
personally I don't think you can get a better upright than a dyson. i've used those hoover bagless ones, and they dont really suck as much as the dysons IMO.

j1mmy
If you phone Dyson they will send someone out to fix it for a set fee of £50 (I Think, they replace whatever is required (motor etc)therefore you never have to buy a new Dyson. I have used them twice and found them to be very fast, efficient and helpful.

Luke
Forget dyson, get yourself a vacuum cleaner made by Sebo. Available John Lewis. A quality made bit of kit. Not expensive either, we've had a commercial one at work for 15 years

Tarmac_Terrorist
Had a Sebo for several years. Supposed to be best for filtration - hence also used in hospitals and popular with allergy suffers. Bullet proof build and good range of attachments (if you like attachments )

NeilB
I'd never have another Dyson. It kept breaking as it was made from such cheap parts, ok it was fixed under warrenty, but you then had the hassle of waiting for the bloke to come and fix it. danksy
Had mine for 8 years and it refuses to break
Scotty
Couldn't break ours after 11 years (I think). So it's now in the garage for car use and we got a replacement with the ball. It's much better (more powerful and easier to manouveor). It came from John Lewis with a 5 year free warranty. Check Pricerunner for the best prices.
