dominicbatty
Does anyone have an A3 pinout diagram for the ECU. I've just installed cruise control and need to know which connections to plug the wires into. I can't get a bentley manual for the A3 (or so the woman at Bentley tells me) Thx. Dom. NikoS3
I am forwarding the e-mail i sent Dom, since it might be of use to some others too, "Hi Dom, I am sending you the Audi Cruise Control Circuit for the A3-TT. I have made some notes on the side, in order to help you understand what is going on. Since you have already fitted the Cruise control Switch & the Cruise Control Loom, you now need to fit a 4-Cable Loom from the 10-pin Connector Box on the Driver's Side (LHD) which is in the Engine Compartment under the wipers (you need to remove the wipers and partly or totally remove the plastic cover) to the ECU Connector. If i remember correctly the pinouts that you need (nos. 57, 75, 76, 38) are on the larger Connector, i.e. ECU Input. You need to unplug the connector and take it apart...It is not difficult, there is some kind of safety (purple plastic thing) that you remove first and the whole thing comes to pieces. You just need to remember how it was in the first place in order to fit everything back correctly!!! What you will require is about a meter long of a 4-cable loom and some pinouts since the 10-pin Connector Box does not have the additional pinouts needed for the Cruise Control Loom (you can get these from any Car Audio Fitting Centre)!!!!!! If you are not confident that you can achieve all these by yourself i suggest you ask for the help of an electrician or a car-audio fitter. Finally after you have fitted all these, you require Vag-Com or Vag 1551 in order to activate the Cruise Control Unit. It is a straight forward procedure that is listed in the Cruise Control Booklet. You can then go for a test-drive and check everything works properly!!! Hope i have given you the help you required!!! E-mail me if you have any problems (hope not!!!). Unfortunately i didn't take any pictures when fitting it on my car... Best, Nikos."
